Learning from Case Reviews: Enhancing Safeguarding Practice at the System Level.

The event has been arranged by the Children and Adult Safeguarding Partnership and Safer Sheffield Partnership.

What is the event for?

In Sheffield we spend considerable time, effort, and resource learning about the circumstances when things have gone wrong. Through Safeguarding Adult Reviews, Domestic Homicide Reviews, Joint Case Reviews, Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews and Rapid Reviews, we look at how services have responded well, and what could have been done differently that might have had a more positive outcome for the people involved. This statutory, in-depth analysis enables us to understand what we need to continue doing, and where there is room for improvement that demands change to how we deliver services.

Who is the event for?

The event is for Chief Executives, Senior Leaders, and Strategic Leads… For those who can influence and implement organisational and partnership system change!!

In this development day we will reflect on recent reviews and consider the key themes that recur and endure across local and national reviews.  These complex challenges inhibit good safeguarding and require more than a practice response, and we will encourage you to consider them through a strategic and collaborative lens. As the day progresses, we will support you to evaluate how effectively your service is responding to the issues raised, and to build a plan to put insights into practice going forward.
