Understanding and Supporting the Needs of Adult and Young Carers

Details of course: Carers often remain hidden, making it vital that professionals are able to identify and support them effectively. This interactive session will provide up-to-date information on the challenges that adult and young carers face, the impact of caring responsibilities on their lives, and how to offer meaningful support. You’ll gain practical tips, resources, and guidance to help you make a difference in your role. The course will also include input from adult and young carers (either in-person or through video). 

 

By the end of the session, you will:

  • Understand who adult and young carers are and the responsibilities they take on
  • Recognise the signs that a child or adult may be a carer
  • Understand the impacts that caring can have
  • Know how to signpost and support adult and young carers.
