Sheffield Adult Safeguarding Partnership

UPDATE: The Escalation and Resolution Protocol and Accompanying Template has Been Updated

The aim of the Escalation and Resolution protocol is to resolve professional disagreements relating to the safety of individuals at risk, escalating any concerns that may arise, if issues are not viewed as being dealt with satisfactorily. Learning from Safeguarding Adults Reviews has highlighted that partner agencies have a responsibility for professional challenge and where concerns remain must escalate safeguarding concerns. Occasionally, situations arise when professionals in one organisation feel that the decision made by a professional from another
organisation regarding safeguarding an adult at risk is not appropriate. Working together effectively depends on an open and honest approach between organisations.
